The Baha’i Chair for World Peace held a conference about the challenge of global peace and security on 16 and 17 October at the University of Maryland, College Park.
I spoke about the importance of the values behind technology in one of the conference’s keynote addresses. In my talk, I explored the potential for technology and business to drive positive change and contribute to peace-building efforts.
Key highlights included:
- The need to foster ethical design and responsible tech deployment to address negative behavioral impacts
- Incentivizing businesses to align models with ethical practices and positive engagement
- Promoting workplace cultures that build empathy and pro-social behaviors
- Adopting more inclusive approaches to STEM education and integrating humanities in tech
- Embracing diverse perspectives through cross-disciplinary collaboration
As rapid tech advancement redefines society, we must tap into the potential of diverse minds to shape an equitable and sustainable future. I invite you to watch the full keynote and join the conversation on the role of technology and business in building peace.
What are your thoughts on bridging gaps between tech, business and society? I welcome your perspectives!
